This is my story.....It all started in 1999 when I wanted a "Jeep Type" vehicle to drive around in the summer and do some light four wheeling in. So I started to look at IH Scouts, Old Broncos, FJ40 Land Cruisers, and of course...Jeeps. I was really impressed with the build strength of the Land Cruisers and liked how they still had a classic open top Jeep look. So I finally found one without the entire floor rusted out and bought it for $3,500. I thought I would just fix minor stuff, add some paint, and be done...ha!...8 years later...I finished a full frame off build that cost over $20,000 in parts alone! In those 8 years, I found that what I really wanted was a trail rig. So I found a rusted out non running '73 FJ40 and bought it for $320. Then I proceeded to cut the body off from the firewall back and started to accumulate parts. So far I have a 427 GM Big Block, Allison MT650 automatic Transmission, Divorced NP205 Transfer Case, 2.5 ton Rockwell axles, and the parts to do a custom rear four link. This one will be a trail only Rig and will keep me from having to beat up my '77. The saga continues...
